The River Is Waiting
This book was suggested to me. I had no idea going into it what it was about. I think I read the first 100 pages in the first couple days of having the book and finished the last 100 pages in one day. This book had me feeling all the emotions: sadness, anger, and joy. The characters help make the book outside of the main character, Corby; it shows that even in awful places, there can be some compassion, and we have to just listen to the other person and let them explain their side of the story and not just dismiss them. The whole book is you with Corby and in his mind and how hard it is to have lost and been the reason for the loss, even when it was an accident, and then trying your best to better yourself for the others you love in your life.
