What We Did
We left around 11am and arrived by 5pm Ohio time. We got Chick-fil-A for dinner and had a Target run for items we forgot and diapers. Instead of packing a large box of diapers, just buy them when we get to our destination, it takes up less room in the car. We got back to the hotel and checked out our room, we had a King Suite, where the king bed was in its own room and had a seperate bathroom (room had 2 bathrooms)! The hotel was a bit tired, but it was built in 1931, and still had it's Art Deco style, but we would stay there again. We had a pull out couch for the older two boys and a pack-n-play for T, it was a bit tight with the couch out and the pack-in-play, but we made it work.
Boys woke up around 7am, T came in and laid in C and I's bed for a while. T and I walked to Starbucks and got breakfast and coffee for all of us (no coffee for boys). We went to Bass Pro and found out that A is scared of escalators, and got stuck at the top of one when we thought he was with us, but wouldn't step on, we had to go around and ride it back up to get him. We got Raising Cane's for lunch. We went back to the hotel and took naps before the Reds game at 6:40. At the game the boys got pizza, sprite, and popcorn. After about half an inning, T was getting restless, so we went for a walk and found the Family Zone. On the way we sat down multiple times, then laid down at one point. We made it there, and played for a while, bedtime is typically 7pm, and routines thrown off, I couldn't be upset the way T was acting, we got a few smiles and chuckles while we sat or laid on the ground. We walked back to our seats and watched some more baseball, we left the game early and headed back to hotel for bed.
We went to Big Bone Lick State Historic Site in Union Kentucky, this is the birthplace of American Vertebrate Paleontology, well we started that way and ended up not going, they are closed on Sundays. Instead we headed to Louisville to the Slugger Museum. On the way we passed the Florence Ya'lls baseball stadium, T fell asleep on the way, and ended up woken up when we arrived, so was in a slight mood. A really enjoyed the tour of making bats. On the way back to the hotel, we stopped at the Historic Louisville Water Tower and got gas at exit 28 on Route 71 in Kentucky.
Ate Dunkin' for breakfast in the hotel then went to Union Terman for the museums. A enjoyed the Pixar exhibit about how Pixar movies are made and all the parts that went into make some of his favorite movies, this was a very hands on exhibit for the boys and kid friendly. After that exhibit, we went to the Natural History part and O's jaw dropped when we saw the dinosaur skeletons, he even got to touch the femur of an apatosaurus. There was also a space exhibit where the boys got to touch part of the moon. I think this was O's favorite part. We ate at Big Boy for lunch then hotel for naps. After naps we ate Skyline Chile for dinner.
We stayed in Hotel for the day.
We had Chick-fil-A for breakfast, I went to go pick it up and made I made it back with NO GPS. After breakfast we checked out of the hotel and went to the Cincinnati Fire Museum, then headed home. A short stop outside of Indy for gas and food and then we got home.
